Weather alerts are in effect for nearly all of New Jersey as a snowstorm is expected to hit the state starting tomorrow night into Sunday morning. Every county, except Cape May, is under alert due to the incoming winter weather.

In North Jersey, including Sussex, Warren, Morris, and Monroe County, Pennsylvania, forecasters predict 2 to 4 inches of sleet and snow, along with ice accumulation up to a tenth of an inch. To the east, Passaic, Bergen, and Essex counties could see between 3 to 5 inches of snow and a glazing of ice. South Jersey counties, such as Atlantic, Ocean, Monmouth, and Burlington, are expecting snow and sleet with up to 2 inches of accumulation and up to a tenth of an inch of ice.

According to NJ.com, the National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for all 21 counties, warning of hazardous road conditions due to ice. The storm is expected to start with snow in southern New Jersey before transitioning to sleet and freezing rain as it moves north.

Officials are advising residents to slow down and use caution while traveling. The state Department of Transportation has also issued a travel ban for commercial vehicles on several interstate highways starting at midnight tonight.

The storm is part of a series of storms expected to affect the region, with another system forecasted for late Saturday into early Sunday.
