New Topping? Cocaine Pizza

The manager of Grotto Pizza of Newark, Del. is accused of selling cocaine to employees and customers inside and outside the pizza shop. 40 year old Michael Gordon-Somers of Elkton, Md., was arrested on February 23rd and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, drug dealing, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a revoked license. He was later released on his own recognizance. The investigation began last October when Newark police were tipped off to drug transactions in plain sight on the premises. Grotto Pizza is a popular nightlife destination among nearby University Of Delaware students. The suspect is also alleged to have used drugs to take sexual advantage of young male staffers, according to court records. Surveillance video was continued monitored throughout January and February before a transaction on the footage on Valentine's Day captured a drug transaction. Police obtained a search warrant and later pulled Somers overon February 23rd. Inside the vehicle police found 23 grams of cocaine, packaged in 15 baggies. Somers admitted to selling cocaine for two years and snorting inside his vehicle. Grotto Pizza had previously recognized Somers on it's Facebook page as an "All-star" employee rising from dishwasher to General Manager. The company President, Jeffrey Gosnear confirmed the all-star" employee's suspension and banishment from it property pending the outcome of his trial.
