A movie legend was spotted on Tennessee Avenue last week filming an upcoming movie. Shirley MacLaine, a veteran of stage and screen recently celebrated her 90th birthday, the BEST way she knows how. By announcing her upcoming movie project, “People Not Places” is about a “sprightly woman in her twilight years who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a local homeless man, while struggling to mend a troubled relationship with her son,” she wrote. McLaine, best remembered for stellar, Academy award winning role in Terms of Endearment, opposite Debra Winger and Steel Magnolias featuring an all-star cast including Sally Field, Olympia Dukakis and Julia Roberts, is excited about the script and subject of her Atlantic City project. “I recently spent my 90th with a few close friends and I’m doing something that I still enjoy – filming a new movie,” she wrote. “What a wonderful way to celebrate.” The movie co-stars actor Stephen Dorff (Immortals, Blade, World Trade Center). The film is being directed by veteran Director Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer). According to IMDB Movie Database, the film is also shooting scenes in Pleasantville. The project is in Pre-Production first phase and no release date has been announced.
