When doesn't the city of Cape May have crush of traffic? It's a year-round occurrence to the jubilation of local commerce. Locals may feel different but maybe NOT this week! Hollywood is in town filming a movie. Movie stars have been spotted about town. Timothee Chalamet (Wonka, Dune 1 & 2)*, (portraying the iconic Bob Dylan) in the Bob Dylan Biopic: "A Complete Unknown" is on location filming a "Newport Jazz Festival' beach scene. Co-stars Elle Fanning (The Great, Super 8, The Beguiled) and Edward Norton (Fight Club, The Incredible Hulk, The Italian Job) are also in town as part of the production. Hollywood set designers have transformed multiple Cape May streets for a back-in-time 1960's look the story scenes reflect Dylan's famous appearance in Newport, Rhode Island. It was the Newport Jazz Festival in 1966 where the storyteller folk singer plugged in his guitar for the first time ever and went electric. It jet-started his career as a "rock star" and a generational powerhouse who thrives today. This week, Cape May has been transformed into 1966 Newport. Coffee Tyme, on the Washington Street Mall has been capturing the excitement all week with visits from Edward Norton and other celebrities. I would make the trip just for a glance at Norton, who was an amazing bad guy in my all-time fave, The Italian Job! He had all of us hating him in that role which makes him a superb performer and a major star. A release date for "A Complete Unknown" has not been announced.
