LOCALS: Casting call for Bob Dylan Biopic films in New Jersey

A Complete Unknown,” the upcoming Timothée Chalamet movie depicting this time in Bob Dylan’s life (the movie title references the same song), is now casting New Jersey locals for scenes recreating the music festival. Robert Zimmerman left his Duluth, Minnesota upbringing behind for a singing career in Greenwich Village, NYC coffee houses to a major breakthrough at The Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Oh, he would change his name to Bob Dylan and embark on a 6-decades long musical journey the continues today! Enter Timothee` Chalamet, present day movie star of Dune 2 and Wonka and now cast as the legendary Folkster in A Complete Unknown. "Like a Rolling Stone! A complete unknown', the filmmakers will be shooting at various locations around the Garden State including Cape May, through June and are looking for locals to play crowd extras in Festival scenes. Cape May shooting will attempt to recreate The Newport Festival. Other areas include Passaic and Essex counties and Dylan, once a resident of Woodstock, New York will likely scout areas of Northwest New Jersey for Woodstock Festival scenes. The film also stars Edward Norton as Bob Dylan hero and mentor Pete Seeger and Monica Barbaro (Top Gun:Maverick) portraying singer Joan Baez. Elle Fanning (The great on Hulu) is also cast as love interest of Dylan based on his relationship with artist Suze Rotolo. Ready for some star-gazing and perhaps a lot of sitting around and waiting..?
