The search for a missing swimmer off the coast of Cape May continues as authorities work tirelessly to locate the woman. The swimmer, described as a woman between 30 and 40 years old with dark hair, disappeared after entering the water near Madison and Beach Avenues on Thursday morning (September 4).

According to NBC Philadelphia, the Cape May City officials reported that police, fire crews, and beach patrol are actively searching the area. The New Jersey State Police marine boats and the U.S. Coast Guard are also involved in the search efforts.

The Cape May Beach Patrol has issued Double Red flags, indicating that the water is closed to swimmers due to high surf and dangerous rip currents. This warning follows a series of tragic incidents in New Jersey, including a drowning earlier in the week in Lavallette under similar conditions.

Despite the extensive efforts, as of Thursday night, there are no reports of a missing person matching the swimmer's description.
