The White House announced on Thursday (December 12) that there is no evidence of a threat from the recent drone sightings in New Jersey. John Kirby, the National Security Spokesman, stated that the sightings have not been confirmed and appear to be manned aircraft operating lawfully. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are continuing to investigate the reports.

According to NBC News, Kirby emphasized that there is no indication of malicious activity or a foreign connection. However, some lawmakers, including New Jersey Senators Cory Booker and Andy Kim, have requested more information from federal agencies, citing potential safety and security risks.

Fox News reported that Kirby urged Congress to expand counter-drone measures to better address potential threats. Despite the lack of confirmed drone activity, the sightings have caused public concern, especially after viral videos of the drones circulated on social media.

The White House continues to work with state and local law enforcement to monitor the situation and ensure public safety.
