Hollywood films in Margate

Movie legend Shirley MacLaine is on location in Atlantic City filming "People Not Places," the heartwarming story of a bond between a city woman in the twilight of her life and a homeless man. On this pleasant day South Jersey's Rock Station caught up with film crews preparing for a day's shoot on the streets of neighboring Ventnor. I am a born stargazer and really get caught up in the pomp of a local big movie shoot or celebrity sighting. Today, crews were set up outside of Dino's Subs & Pizza of Margate, a longtime favorite of locals and visitors. WHY was this location chosen? Tara Wainwright, who along with her husband Tim own Dino's told us that the director called them ahead of time. He is a fan of their menu, a customer! Brad Furman, who also directed Matthew McConaughey in the Box office smash, The Lincoln Lawyer is a homegrown Philly boy having grown up in Lafayette Hill, Pa. So, he knows what he likes and where to eat at the shore! Interestingly, Brad's mom, a writer, wrote the screenplay for "People Not Places." It's apparent Mom (from south Jersey) and son are reliving summer trips to the Jersey shore! AND I have a solid recommendation for a new place to order my pizza and subs! MacLaine, a screen legend who recently turned 90 can think of no better way to celebrate! Filming a movie on the east coast. "I recently spent my 90th birthday with a few close friends and I'm doing something that I still enjoy-filming a new movie", she wrote. "What a wonderful way to celebrate." MacLaine is the sister of another screen legend, actor Warren Beatty. NO official word if she ordered anything off the board at Dino's?
